Law enforcers have expressed concern over the safety of Dr Kamal Hossain during a meeting with the Jatiya Oikyafront convener.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) would take measures for his security at his house and practice chamber if needed, said the Gonoforum President to reporters at his Motijheel chamber on Wednesday noon.
“They even said they would provide security with the car as well,” Dr Kamal said.
Even though the DMP Commissioner was supposed to meet Dr Kamal’s house, he could not go because of some other commitment and sent his apologies, said the Oikyafront convener.
In reply to a query whether the alliance would stay in the elections, Dr Kamal said, “We have to hold on to this. So that they cannot say that we moved away. This is our right. If they make it impossible, then people will see.”
He alleged that the government’s actions are casting doubt over the credibility of the elections.
