The military on Wednesday has issued an alert against frauds that are identifying themselves as army officers and are seeking financial assistance from different candidates.
Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) released a press release regarding the issued and clearly stated that these frauds are in no way related to the armed forces.
“A fraud gang identifying themselves as army officers deputed on the election field are trying to obtain personal gains using the army’s reputation,” it said.
ISPR Assistant Director Mohammad Reza-ul-Karim Shammi said that these frauds are calling different election contenders over the phone and promising them to provide different facilities in exchange of money.
The law enforcers have arrested some of the fake army officers, the release added.
The ISPR has also requested all concerned to remain cautious against them.
