As a part of its preparation to use electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the upcoming national election in six constituencies, the Election Commission (EC) will arrange a ‘mock voting’ session with EVMs on Thursday, December 27.
SM Mahmud Arafat, officer-in-charge of Operation Planning and Communication of the EVM Project, said, “The mock voting through EVMs will be conducted from 10am to 4pm on Thursday in all the polling stations of the six constituencies.”
The six constituencies are: Dhaka-6 and-13, Chattogram-9, Rangpur-3, Khulna-2 and Satkhira-2.
The constituencies have a total of 21,24,554 voters in total.
The Commission will use EVMs instead of ballot papers in the six constituencies out of the country’s 300 ones in the 11th national election slated for December 30.
