Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the BNP has returned to submitting complaints to foreign countries after its defeat in the 11th general election.
“People have rejected BNP. Now it has no option except complaining to foreign countries. We want to thank them (BNP) for participating in the election,” said the AL leader while talking to reporters after a meeting at Awami League central office in the city’s Gulistan.
He also thanked country’s people for voting Awami League into power and the Election Commission for holding the election in a ‘free and fair’ manner.
Earlier in the day, several ruling party leaders including Quader paid tribute to the late political Syed Ashraful Islam.
Syed Ashraf breathed his last while undergoing treatment in Thailand on Thursday.
