The top brass of the Election Commission (EC) will meet on February 3 to decide on the schedule of the upcoming Upazila Parishad polls.
EC Deputy Secretary (Establishment) Shahedunnabi Chowdhury called the meeting through a letter on Wednesday.
EC sources said the 45th commission meeting would be held at 3pm at the chief election commissioner office about reserved seats and schedule of the fifth upazila polls.
EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed said back in January 10 that the polls would be held in phases starting from March, but had not given a fixed schedule.
The first Upazila Parishad election took place in 1985. The following three were held in 1990, 2009 and 2014. The last one was organised in six phases.
