Home Minister maintains zero-tolerance on militants, anarchy


Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that if the Jamaat-BNP alliance tries to launch anarchy in the name of protests, they will be thwarted at any cost.
“BNP can wage a movement in the coming days as it’s the democratic right of a political party. If they want to unleash anarchy in the name of any movement, it’ll be dealt with an iron fist,” the minister said on Tuesday while talking to reporters after taking charge as the Home Minister after the 11th Parliamentary Election.
While talking about concurrent issues, the minister said the implementation of the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards militants will be the main challenge.
He added that the government also wants to maintain its zero tolerance policy against the drug trade.
“The drug abuse epidemic will be cleared out of the country at any cost,” minister Asaduzzaman mentioned.
The cabinet minister added that efforts will be strengthened to curb terrorism from the country.
“Our law enforcement agencies are working with efficiency to uproot terrorism. They’re now well-prepared to keep the law order normal facing any challenge,” he said.
The minister added that he will pursue to complete the unfinished works in the last tenure and this is a big challenge.
