Observers term national election free, fair


A group of foreign and local observers termed the 11th general election as a free and fair one in terms of the international standards.
They observed that the voters could cast their vote without any fear.
The observers also hailed the Election Commission of Bangladesh for arranging a fair and peaceful election.
Pointing towards the death outside Dhaka, the observers said they were assured that the EC will investigate the incidents.
Executive Director of Election Monitoring Forum and Secretary General of Saarc Human Rights Foundation M Abed Ali, Canadian observer Tania Foster and Indian observer Dr Gautom Ghosh, among others, were present there.
